This Victorian house was in need of total renovation – from the mold in the basement to the raccoons in the attic. The owners restored all the original parts and removed inappropriate 70s renovations. A sauna and bathroom in the front of the house were replaced with an arched opening and small home office. The final kitchen is the fifth one shown in the Before and After section. A new energy efficient heating and cooling system was added, as well as improved Icynene insulation. In choosing materials, sustainability, longevity and maintenance were foremost considerations, as well as trying to use local products and craftspeople.
